This is Hemanth Kumar. I'm an MBA Finance graduate working for Progressive Digital Media Group, a market research company, as a Research Analyst.

CT: About Your Profession (Research Analyst) in Few Lines
As a Market Research Analyst, I have to gather information about diverse market segments and analyse the present and future position or day-to-day information of the market or industry using Research Modeling Techniques. This information will be useful for our clients to get advantage over competitors and to analyse the market need and competition. 

Being a Market Research Analyst, I have not just learned the market analysis, but mainly i gained a detailed understanding on different markets, which i enjoy studying and exploring every market segment/industry, the strategies the companies will play, their decision making system over the development or survival.

CT: Tell us about working hours of a Research Analyst ?
Depends on type of research. Basically research can be done in Primary (Calls) or Secondary (Browsing) mode. For primary research, timings could be flexible, based upon geographic region.

CT :DO you engage in Work related activities after working hours?
Some times I have to, to deliver the work in time for clients.

CT: Things you like about Being a Research Analyst?
Firstly, I like the process, where i can do my job, as well i can improve my study over market. Scope for recognition. Moderate pressure and No night shifts... :) 

CT: Things you don't like about being a Research Analyst?
Sticking up totally with the browser.., makes my eyes dry.

CT: Work Location and Job Availability in Different Countries?
My work location is at Hyderabad. Jobs in this field are very plenty in many countries. 

CT: Please explain us typically,how career graph of a Research Analyst?
Very Much difficult to predict, highly variable.

CT: Skills or qualities required to become a Research Analyst?
MBA with Finance specialization is must. Good MS Excel,   Analytics and Statistics skills is must. Knowledge on SAS/SPSS will add additional advantage for the profile.
