Pavan is presently working in Bangalore with a Software Company as a Project Manager / Team Lead. He has been working in this Field from the past 9 years, So we thought it would be useful to publish his interview to share his expertise about the profession Software team lead / Project Manager, please go through this small interview we had over a cup of coffee

CT: Tell Us About You?
This is Pavan , I am a Computer Science Engineering Graduate. working as a Project Manager with a Software Company located at Bangalore.

CT: About Your Profession (Project Manager) in Few Lines
By Profession I am Team Leader/Project Manager of a software company, I am responsible for resource planning, budget and answerable for the outcomes and meeting project delivery schedules.

CT:  On a scale of 1-5, how do you rate the following

CT: Tell us about working hours of a Project Manager ?
8 Hrs a day, floating time, no restriction.

CT :DO you engage in Work related activities after working hours?
Sometimes, but only out of my own desire to do so.

CT: Things you like about Being a Project Manager?
Highly challenging, very professional, feels like solving a new problem daily.

CT: Things you don't like about being a Project Manager?
Managements who fail to understand the technical aspects. One hates people who think they can employ 9 women to deliver a child in 1 month.

CT: Work Location and Job Availability in Different Countries?
Pretty decent.

CT: Please explain us typically,how career graph of a Project Manager?
This varies based on the educational background, the company that is hiring you, your interview's performance and finally your performance. And then on top of all these, you have to factor job changes.

CT: Skills or qualities required to become a Project Manager?
Should be very good at mathematics, problem solving, puzzles, pattern recognition, cognitive analysis, desire to learn more, ability to accept criticisms..

CT:Your suggestion to aspirants,who want to be a Project Manager?
Aspire to become successful on your abilities, not on others achievements. (Don't become a software engineer just because your friend earns a lot of money)

CT:How to become a Project Manager ?
Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering or relative courses.

CT: Name 5 top companies who Offers jobs for Project Manager?
Size does not matter. Join a place where there is respect for software engineers and you have a job satisfaction. It could be Apple or Microsoft or a new start up
