Teaching Careers in United Kingdom

There are always many different opportunities for careers in the teaching field. In 2013, this is no different. The best opportunities for getting into the teaching field this year are as a curriculum developer, a post secondary teacher, a special education teacher, a counsellor, an education administrator, a librarian, a k-12 teacher, and a GED teacher.

A curriculum developer is responsible for duties such as developing curricula and making sure the current curricula meets state and federal regulations for learning. The curriculum developer is also responsible for things such as evaluating teacher performance with the curricula and planning teacher training courses.
A post secondary teacher has the benefit of teaching students who are interested in the subject being taught and who want to be in class. The jobs are abundant but competitive and the pay is well also.

A special education teacher is responsible for teaching students to be socially acceptable with their behavior and give students who do not understand coursework an easier way to learn it. There are many advancement opportunities for special education teachers.

A counsellor works inside a school and will guide students through school and work choices. Counsellors’ inside schools also work as a guide in helping students deal with personal and public issues in and out of school.

An education administrator is an individual who is in an educational facility to help it run fluently. These individuals may work as principals or assistant principals or they may work as chairpersons or directors. The salary in this sub field of education is excellent.

A librarian in the education field can either work in a school media center (which is the library in an elementary, middle, or high school) or an academic library such as that of a university or college. Librarians have almost unlimited advancement potential and start at a decent salary.

A K-12 teacher is responsible for preparing students to enter the real world after graduating high school. These individuals also grade assignments, keep track of advancements in their students learning, meet with the parents of students, and lead school clubs. The salary for these positions are decent, however, not at the top of the list against other educational career opportunities.

A GED teacher works with individuals who wish to improve their reading levels, wish to get a general equivalency diploma or are learning to speak English for the first time. The availability of jobs in the area are generally high, and the salary is good.

Teaching career opportunities are almost always abundant in some form. For individuals who seek to help others, teaching is a good career choice. Even though a curriculum developer, a post secondary teacher, a special education teacher, a counsellor, an education administrator, a librarian, a k-12 teacher, and a GED teacher are not the only opportunities in the teaching career field, these opportunities are at the top of the list.
